"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened."
When she was just a tiny puppy, she had floppy ears and a wiggle butt. When she jumped she practically flew!
Being an Australian Cattle Dog, she claimed us as her "herd" and then went to work. She took her little puppy teeth and tugged at the fabric I was pulling off a stack of dining chair seats. Then she climbed up onto the pile of discarded seat covers to take a well deserved nap.
As she grew, I wanted to keep her in the shop with me, but she took her job of looking after me seriously. I was afraid a customer would get bit....
So I took her to dog classes. She learned, but I didn't.
I took her roller blading a la "The Dog Whisperer". I fell and broke my wrist.
So Rosa stayed home and looked after my daughter, my mom, and my chickens.
But now she's gone and we have to look after ourselves. Stupid cancer took her from us. My heart sinks each time I walk up to the door to come in and realize she's not waiting on the other side. I still shift position gently in bed at night so as not to accidentally kick her.
